It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at Knollwood! Once the turkey is cleared from the table, it means it is Christmas time! Ed and John in maintenance did an excellent job decorating the exterior and interior of the building. Everywhere you look inside there is a beautifully decorated tree.
One of the yearly traditions we have is taking residents on the bus to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows for their annual Way of Lights Christmas light display. Afterwards, we made a stop at an employee’s daughter’s house to check out their display, and even had a special visit from Santa!
Did someone say cookies?!
What kind of Christmas at Knollwood would it be if we didn’t have our annual Cookies with Santa event? This year we had entertainment from Ed Settle along with cookies, candy canes, and hot chocolate! Of course, you can’t forget about Santa!
We finished off the Christmas festivities with 2 varieties of music. We had a children’s choir group from St. Stephen’s Church and Holy Rosary Church come and sing wonderful Christmas jingles. Residents enjoyed singing along and participating in the music with bells! This was then followed up with residents being serenaded by our very own Vera on the piano.
