Dear Family and Friends:
Dear Family and Friends of Knollwood:
Finally, after a very long and tumultuous year, we are excited to announce that we may now allow visitors to come into our facility!
Please read on for a copy of our visitation policy as established in accordance with the regulatory guidance put forth from the CDC, the state and county health departments.
Please review this information, and if you have questions, please feel free to call me at Knollwood, (618) 394-0569.
I ask for your continued cooperation and patience as we adjust and become accustomed to these newly instituted procedures.
Thank you all for your patience and cooperation as we have all struggled through this past year and we have all worked together to keep our residents safe.
Again, if there are any questions concerning this information, please call me.
Sincerely,
Alice J. Green, Administrator

Any visitors who develop symptoms of COVID-19 within 3 days after visiting must immediately notify the facility.
Any visitor who refuses to comply with the infection prevention policies during a visit will be asked to end their visit and leave the premises.
Indoor Visitation:
No more than 2 visitors per resident at one time. Visits must take place in resident’s apartment. Visitors must remain in resident’s apartment. Visitors are not permitted to go to other apartments or areas of the facility.
Visitors must call and make an appointment with the receptionist. (618) 394-0569
Upon arrival, visitors will be screened and must complete the informational questionnaire. A visitor’s badge will be issued by the receptionist with the date, time of arrival, and apartment number of the resident whom you are visiting. This badge must be worn while visiting and must be returned to the receptionist at the end of the visit to be attached to the questionnaire.
No more than 2 persons on the elevator at a time.

Trips Outside the Facility:
For Residents who have been FULLY VACCINATED:
Trips outside the facility are allowed and do not require quarantine upon return. Residents who are within 90 days of a confirmed COVID-19 infection are not required to quarantine.
Residents who have NOT been fully vaccinated will be monitored and observed closely for development of symptoms during a 14-day period following the outing. Decision regarding quarantine will be based upon the potential for exposure while out of the facility.
Residents who have NOT been fully vaccinated will be place on quarantine for 14 days if they are out of the facility for an overnight period.
ALL residents, regardless of vaccination status should continue to wear face masks, maintain social distancing, and perform frequent hand hygiene to remain safe and keep your friends, neighbors, family members, and staff safe!
Please avoid mass gathering events such as festivals, fairs, and parades. Also avoid other locations where 6-foot distancing cannot be maintained.
While the majority of our residents and a large portion of our staff have been vaccinated, and we continue to follow recommended procedures for the mitigation of COVID-19, there does remain a risk of exposure, which is why we require the use of face coverings and hand hygiene. We continue to work closely with our local health department to maintain infection control precautions, receive advisement on how to reduce the risk of transmission, and anytime we encounter an outbreak.
That being stated, should an outbreak occur, all visitation will be halted, and we will keep you informed as to the status of facility procedures going forward.
We will make every effort to keep our website up to date as things change during this pandemic.
