About Us

Charles W. Fawcett, Jr. was successfully serving clients of Fawcett Development Corporation, a multi-disciplinary service organization involved in numerous sectors of the development field. In 2003 his skills and talents in engineering, design, construction and property management were put towards a new venture, senior housing. His goal, as he stated in public meetings, was to build a facility where he could encourage his father to live without hesitation. He partnered with Dr. Linda Renee Baker, former Secretary of the Illinois Department of Human Services with over 15 years of experience in Illinois state government which is complimented by her education in gerontology and health care administration.

Baker brought with her a long history in  public service--including a stint as the  assistant director of the Illinois Department of Public Aid and director of the Illinois Department of Employment Security.  Baker is considered one of the pioneers of  the supportive living concept in Illinois. After working on the concept during her graduate studies, she lead the staff of the Illinois Department of Public Aid  in working with the legislature, seniors, advocates, developers and the provider community in crafting the enabling legislation and securing the federal waiver that made the SLF concept a reality in Illinois.

Fawcett and Baker follow their passion for competent, compassionate senior care as evidenced by the service offered at Knollwood Retirement Community, a 98 unit facility in Caseyville, Illinois.
